U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force Apprehends New Orleans Suspect Sought for Murder

Austin, TX – Members of the U.S. Marshals-led Lone Star Fugitive Task Force last Thursday arrested a man sought for Murder from the New Orleans Police Department that was issued on November 15, 2023, in Louisiana.

Anderson Dixon, 20, of Hammond was wanted for a Homicide that occurred in New Orleans, LA and was believed to be hiding in Austin, TX.

The United States Marshals in the Eastern District of Louisiana – New Orleans Task Force requested assistance from the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) in Austin to locate and apprehend Dixon who was believed to be residing in the Austin area.

Members of the LSFTF continued investigative efforts and arrested Dixon at an apartment complex located in the 6200 block of Loyola Lane in Austin without further incident. 

The Austin Police Department – Homicide Division and the New Orleans Police Department conducted a joint investigation to obtain a search warrant on the residence following the arrest of Dixon. 

Austin Police – Homicide Division conducted a search and located two assault rifles, two handguns, seventy-five pounds of marijuana and $41,000 thousand dollars in U.S currency. 

Dixon was transported and booked into the Travis County Jail where he will await further judicial proceedings and extradition.
