For immediate release

Memphis, TN – U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller announces the arrest of Santonio Malone, 36, for a Murder of the First Degree warrant out of Schuykill County, Pennsylvania.

On October 24, 2021, Juan Carlos Romero was found shot to death in Mahanoy City borough in Schuykill County, Pennsylvania. Another victim was found shot at the scene and transported to a local hospital. On the same day multiple warrants were issued for the arrest of Malone for these crimes, including Murder of the First Degree and Aggravated Assault.

The case was adopted by the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. They were able to develop information that Malone was in the Memphis, Tennessee area and began working with the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force.

On January 18, investigators with the Two Rivers Task Force and the Shelby County Fugitive Apprehension Team went to the 1600 block of Gregory in Memphis and found the fugitive at a residence there. He was taken into custody without incident.

"An inter-state fugitive with an arrest warrant for murder will always be a top priority for the U.S. Marshals Service,” said U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller.
