U.S. Marshals Task Force Arrests Memphis Murder Suspect in Arkansas

Memphis, TN – U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller announces the arrest of Jasmine Carey for First Degree Murder (Facilitation of a felony).

On September 11, 2020, Decoricus Owens was found shot to death near 1000 Eyers Road, Memphis, Tennessee. On May 5, 2021 a warrant was issued for Carey for her alleged role in this crime.

The fugitive investigation was adopted by the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force. It was determined by investigators with the Task Force that Carey was in West Helena, Arkansas. Working in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Eastern Arkansas Fugitive Task Force, Carey was located and taken into custody without incident.

The U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force in the Western District of Tennessee with offices in Memphis and Jackson. Its membership is composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff's Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, and Special Agents with the Tennessee Department of Correction. The primary mission of the Task Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
