U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force Arrests Scranton Shooting Suspect

Scranton, PA – Today, U.S. Marshal Martin J. Pane announced the arrest of Miles Singleton – a 21-year old Moosic man.

On August 24, 2019, the Scranton Police Department investigated a shooting in the 500 block of Kennedy Street.

As a result of that investigation detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Singleton with Aggravated Assault, Firearms Not to Be Carried Without License and lesser included offenses. Attempts to find Singleton were unsuccessful and the U. S. Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive Task Force was asked to apprehend him.

Today at about 8:30 a.m., the fugitive investigation led task force members to a home in the 1000 block of Springbrook Avenue, Moosic - where Singleton was taken into custody without incident. He was turned over to the Scranton Police Department for arraignment and processing.

United States Marshal Martin J. Pane stated, "The coordination and cooperation demonstrated by law enforcement in this case led to an extremely dangerous and unpredictable fugitive being taken off the streets. It is our top priority to arrest violent fugitives, especially those who have no regard for human life."

The U. S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force in the Middle District of Pennsylvania is comprised of 20 state, county and local police agencies, including: the Pennsylvania State Police; the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole; and the Scranton Police Department - all of whom participated in this investigation.
