U.S. Marshals, Crime Stoppers USA Test New Tips Protocol, Ease Pay to Confidential Sources
Washington, DC – The U.S. Marshals are collaborating with Crime Stoppers USA to streamline the tips process and make it easier for the agency to compensate confidential sources.

Using the P3 Tips application, a pilot program is being tested and evaluated in Orlando with the Florida/Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force to determine best practices. Once established, the program will branch out nationwide. The pilot program will operate from October 26, 2021, thru March 1, 2022.  This collaborative effort will enable the USMS to pay up to $500 anonymously through the established Crime Stoppers USA infrastructure. Tipsters have the option to remain completely anonymous through this process.

Tipsters can use their computer, iOS or Android mobile devices to provide relevant information via real-time, two-way conversations with USMS personnel on the USMS Tips app, all while remaining completely anonymous. All tip submissions are safe, secure, and discreet. The Marshals also encourage the public to use the app to report noncompliant sex offenders and potential threats to the federal judiciary.
