Marshals Task Force Apprehends First Degree Murder Suspect

Memphis, TN – A first degree murder suspect was arrested in Memphis earlier today.

On 6/24/19 Shelby County issued arrest warrants for Jermichael Davis for First Degree Murder and Aggravated Child Abuse. On 11-20-18 a two year old girl was shot and killed at 5900 block of Hickory Meadow, Memphis, TN. The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force adopted the fugitive case.

The fugitive was tracked to the 1150 block of Rutland. The Shelby County Fugitive Apprehension Team assisted the Marshal Task Force. The door to the residence had to be forced open. The fugitive was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Shelby County Detention Facility.

The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force with divisions in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. The Western Tennessee Division of the GCRFTF has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its membership is primarily composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Madison County Sheriff’s Deputies, Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, BATF, and the Tennessee Department of Corrections Special Agents. The primary mission of the Task Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
