U.S. Marshals Service Arrest Man Wanted for Shooting

Kansas City, KS – On Tuesday, October 2nd, the Kansas Fugitive Apprehension Task Force (KFATF), Kansas City Division arrested Rodney McNeal, age 22, in Kansas City, Kansas. McNeal was wanted on an arrest warrant issued in August 2018 by the Douglas County Kansas Sheriff’s Office, for charges of aggravated battery, aggravated assault, aggravated burglary, and theft. In June of 2018 McNeal burglarized a residence and was interrupted by the homeowner. McNeal allegedly shot the home owner and fled.

Information was developed that McNeal was residing in the Kansas City, KS area. The KFATF was able to locate McNeal and placed him in custody without incident. During the arrest drugs, drug paraphernalia, an undetermined amount of cash and an AK47 rifle were seized. He was booked into the Wyandotte County Jail. United States Marshal for the District of Kansas Ronald Miller said, “The U.S. Marshals Service is dedicated to the apprehension of violent fugitives.”

The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force is a multi-jurisdictional fugitive task force comprised of the United States Marshals Service, Kansas City Kansas Police Department, Kansas Department of Corrections, Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Office, Overland Park Police Department, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
