Foreign Fugitive Taken Into Custody
Suspect Facing Child Pornography Charges

Lone Star Fugitive Task Force LogoSan Antonio, TX – After 5 years on the run, Thomas Patrick Waggoner was finally taken into custody today by the U.S. Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF).

In June 2011, Waggoner, 65, was formally indicted by a grand jury in Kerr County District Court for allegedly committing 58 counts of Possession of Child Pornography and 58 counts of Promotion of Child Pornography, but was subsequently released on bond. In September 2013, a warrant was issued for Waggoner’s arrest for allegedly absconding from supervision and failing to appear in court. Deputy U.S. Marshals from the LSFTF were contacted by Kerrville Police Department detectives for assistance in locating and apprehending Waggoner. Marshals initiated an investigation and determined that Waggoner had fled to Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Through years of continued investigative efforts, marshals were able to coordinate Waggoner’s apprehension. Waggoner was flown from Ministro Pistarini International Airport in Buenos Aires to George Bush International Airport in Houston, TX, where marshals were waiting for him to deplane. Waggoner was taken into custody and transported to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office where he awaits extradition to Kerr County.

“Every year the U.S. Marshals Service coordinates the apprehension of fugitives both foreign and domestic,” said U.S. Marshal Susan Pamerleau. “We will continue the pursuit and apprehension of these fugitives to ensure that they are held accountable for the crimes they commit.”
