U.S. Marshals Sworn-In for the Eastern District of Louisiana
and the Northern District of West Virginia

Washington, D.C. – On Friday, August 24, 2018, Acting Deputy Director David J. Anderson, administered the oath of office to the fifth group of United States Marshals (USM) appointed by President Donald J. Trump and confirmed by the United States Senate at the United States Marshals Service (USMS) Headquarters. The newly appointed USMs completed a week-long training session produced and managed by the Training Division prior to their Swearing-In Ceremony.

After administering the oath of office and presenting their badges and credentials, Acting Deputy Director Anderson joined each of the new USMs in signing their oath on an antique desk once used by Wyatt Earp. Family members and guests of the newly appointed USMs joined USMS senior leadership to witness their Swearing-In Ceremony and to congratulate them.

Sworn-in were:

  • Scott P. Illing for E/LA; and

  • J.C. Raffety for N/WV
