Church Street Assault Suspect Arrested by U.S. Marshals

Burlington, VT – The U.S. Marshals Service arrested Octavious Darron Allen-Napier, 24, of Philadelphia. He was wanted in connection with the assault that occurred near Five Guys on Church Street on the night of August 1st, 2018.

Allen-Napier was wanted for allegedly assaulting a man while Scott Brooks, 22, of Burlington, VT purportedly held the victim in a head-lock. The victim sustained serious bodily injuries due to the attack, suffered from seizures and was admitted into the Intensive Care Unit at The University of Vermont Medical Center.

Brooks was apprehended the day after the alleged assault on August 2, 2018. Allen-Napier’s location was unknown. BPD identified Allen-Napier and an arrest warrant was issued on August 9, 2018.

On August 10, 2018, the Burlington Police Department requested assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service in locating and apprehending the fugitive.

Allen-Napier has criminal histories in both Vermont and Pennsylvania stemming back to when he was 18 years old. He was previously arrested for aggravated assault, firearms possession, robbery and resisting arrest.

On August 13, 2018 at approximately 4:00pm, Allen-Napier surrendered to the U.S. Marshals Service in Burlington, VT without incident.

Allen-Napier’s arrest was a result of a culmination of investigative efforts by the U.S. Marshals Service – Vermont and the Burlington Police Department.
