U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force Arrests Aggravated Assault Suspect
Williamsport, PA - Today, U.S. Marshal Martin J. Pane announced the arrest of Robert Baker, 48, in New Cumberland, PA.

The Swatara Township Police Department obtained an arrest warrant charging Baker with aggravated assault for an incident occurring on February 10, 2018. It is alleged that Baker attacked medical and law enforcement who responded to assist Baker as he was making suicidal threats.

Today, U.S. Marshals and members of fugitive task force located and arrested Baker without incident in the 1600 block of Elm St in New Cumberland, PA. Baker was turned over to local authorities pending judicial proceedings.

United States Marshal Martin J. Pane stated, “This fugitive put the community and law enforcement at risk. I commend the fugitive task force for their diligence in apprehending Baker before someone else got seriously hurt.”

The USMS worked jointly in these investigations with personnel from the Swatara Township Police Department, Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole, Pennsylvania State Police, Lower Paxton Police Department, Dauphin County Probation and the Harrisburg Bureau of Police.
