U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force Arrests Robbery Suspect
Williamsport, PA - Today, U.S. Marshal Martin J. Pane announced the arrest of Courtney Tongel, 23, in Berwick, PA.

The Berwick Boro Police Department obtained an arrest warrant charging Tongel with robbery for an incident occurring on December 24, 2017. It is alleged that Tongel and others forced their way into a residence in Berwick and assaulted and took property of the occupants.

Today, US Marshals and members of fugitive task force located and arrested Tongel without incident in the 300 block of Grant Street in Berwick, PA. Tongel was turned over to local authorities pending judicial proceedings.

United States Marshal Martin J. Pane stated, “The U.S. Marshals Service and our task force partners recognize the importance of cooperation between federal, state and local police agencies – especially when searching for fugitives wanted for violent crimes. It is my sincere hope that the arrest of this dangerous fugitive brings some sense of relief to the victims.”

The USMS worked jointly in these investigations with personnel from the Berwick Police Department, Pennsylvania State Police, Lycoming County Sheriff’s Office and the Williamsport Police Department.
