U.S. Marshals Arrest Leads to Drugs and Gun
Wilmingon, DE - United States Marshal Michael McGowan announced today the arrest of Brian Lewis, 37, of Wilmington. Lewis was wanted by Wilmington Police for a burglary charge.

Lewis was charged with burglary 2nd and offensive touching from an incident that occurred on December 31, 2017 in the 1300 block of Banning St., Wilmington, DE 19805.

Members of the U.S. Marshals fugitive task force established surveillance in the 1300 block of Banning St. Wilmington, De which was a suspected location for Lewis. A short time later, Lewis was observed exiting a vehicle and entering a home. Additional units from the Wilmington Police street crimes unit were requested. As officers approached the front of the residence, Lewis was exiting the home and immediately fled back inside upon seeing the officers. Lewis attempted to flee out of the rear of the home, but was apprehended by officers inside the rear door.

A search warrant was executed which led to the discovery of 2232 bags of suspected heroin, 346 grams of suspected marijuana, a handgun, ammunition, and suspected US currency drug proceeds. Lewis was subsequently charged with new drug and weapons offenses by Wilmington Police.

The USMS First State Fugitive Task Force is comprised of Federal, State, and Local law enforcement agencies in an effort to locate and apprehend fugitives wanted by or residing in the State of Delaware.
