Marshals Nab Fugitive Wanted for Multiple Sex Crimes
Memphis, TN - Christopher Lawrence was arrested earlier today for sixteen separate sex crimes by the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Lawrence was wanted by St. Charles County, Missouri for the following: one count of 1st degree child molestation, two counts of 1st degree statutory sodomy, five counts of 2nd degree statutory sodomy, six counts of 2nd degree statutory rape, and two counts of 2nd degree rape.

When it was known that the fugitive was at large in the Memphis area, the Marshals office in Eastern Missouri asked for the assistance of the Memphis task force.

The fugitive was working at a business in the 4800 block of Poplar Avenue. He was tracked to that location and taken into custody. At the time of this press release he is at the Shelby County Jail awaiting extradition.

The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force with divisions in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. The Western Tennessee Division of the GCRFTF has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its membership is primarily composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Madison County Sheriff’s Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, BATF, and the Tennessee Department of Corrections Special Agents. The primary mission of the Task Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
