Rudolfo Anaya Elementary “Community Read”
Albuquerque, NM – U.S. Marshal Conrad E. Candelaria was asked to participate in Rudolfo Anaya Elementary’s annual “Community Read” event. Community leaders representing many different professional careers throughout Albuquerque came together to share their personal stories of education and success in their current careers and read to students.

This event is designed to provide elementary students the opportunity to learn about different careers and the educational requirements for these professions. Marshal Candelaria spoke to a 5th grade classroom about his 32 years of experience as a law enforcement official and the diverse mission of the United States Marshals Service. The students asked many questions and were encouraged to open their minds and imagine their own personal career path. Marshal Candelaria emphasized the importance of an education, setting goals and good decision making as it relates to a successful life and career choices.

Community Outreach events such as these are just another way the United States Marshals Service for the District of New Mexico serves our youth, and reflects our ongoing commitment to our community.
