U.S. Marshals Arrest Suspect Wanted in Murder
Dayton, Ohio – U.S. Marshal Pete Tobin is pleased to announce that during the late hours of October 5, 2017 the U.S. Marshal’s Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) made an arrest in the Summit Square Homicide. The suspect was wanted by the Dayton Police Department for Murder and Felonious Assault. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on September 30, 2017 at approximately 7:23pm near the Summit Square Apartments.

On September 30, Detectives were called out to an address on Summit Square Drive. Davion Mcghee, age 22 of Huber Heights was found shot to death. After a lengthy investigation, Dayton Detectives were able to obtain an arrest warrant for a juvenile, age 17.

Late Thursday evening, SOFAST officers had developed information that the suspect was currently in the Dayton area near the Summit Square Apartments. After several hours and many interviews later, Dayton SOFAST was able to safely apprehend the suspect and transport him to the Dayton PD detective section.

U.S. Marshals SOFAST is a multi-jurisdictional task force comprised of the Dayton Police Department, Springfield Police Department, Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Grandview Hospital Police Department, Miami County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio Adult Parole Authority, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, and Springboro Police Department.
