US Marshals Arrest Couple in Baltimore Accused of Injuring 17-Month-Old Child in West Virginia
Martinsburg, W.Va. – The U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested Taishon Johnson, 19, of Baltimore and Nisha Hanvey, 20, without incident at two separate locations in Baltimore Tuesday. Johnson and Hanvey were wanted on West Virginia charges related to serious injuries of a 17-month-old child in 2016.

On Sept. 18, 2016, Martinsburg Police officers were called to an address on E. Liberty Street for a 17-month-old-child with serious injuries. Martinsburg City Police detectives determined that Taishon Johnson’s and Nisha Hanvey’s alleged conduct resulted in injuries to the child that evening and on prior occasions. Warrants were issued for their arrest on Sept. 12, charging Johnson with malicious wounding of a child and child abuse resulting in injury, and charging Hanvey with child abuse with injury and child neglect resulting in injury.

Detectives soon realized Johnson and Hanvey had left West Virginia for the Baltimore county area. The U.S. Marshals were contacted, leading to the arrests of Johnson and Hanvey within days. Both subjects were also charged as fugitives from justice and will be returned to West Virginia.
