|U.S. Marshals Service Operation Nets 5 guns in Sex Offender operation|
Lincoln, Neb. -
The U.S. Marshals Service Metro
Fugitive Task Force for the District of Nebraska led a sex offender compliance
operation in Gage and Saline counties Wednesday, checking nearly 100 offenders
The operation resulted in the seizure of five guns and pending criminal charges against the offender who possessed them, one offender who was found in noncompliance and one offender who was arrested on a failure-to-appear arrest warrant.
The Beatrice Police Department assisted the Metro Fugitive Task Force with this initiative.
“The United States Marshals Service, District of Nebraska, is committed to its mission of working with and supporting local and state law enforcement with the investigation and apprehension of those sex offenders who are not in compliance with their registration requirements,” said U.S. Marshal for the District of Nebraska Mark Martinez. “In this particular operation, the collaboration between the U.S. Marshals Service and the Gage and Saline County Sheriff’s Offices worked extremely well and led to a successful multicounty sex offender compliance operation.”
