U.S. Marshals Arrest Rape Suspect
Dayton, OH - U.S. Marshal Pete Tobin is pleased to announce that the U.S. Marshals Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) arrested Ted Mullins, age 47.

SOFAST worked closely with the Kettering Police Department after Ted Mullins was charged with Rape and Kidnapping. The incident was in 2009 however recent DNA evidence brought the case back into light. Through the investigation, SOFAST developed information that Ted Mullins was residing at an address on South Smithville in Dayton, Ohio. It is believed that Mullins was avoiding police contact after the warrant was issued. Shortly after the warrant was issued, SOFAST was able to quickly locate and arrest Mullins without incident during the evening hours of July 26th. Mullins was then transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

U.S. Marshals SOFAST is a multi-jurisdictional task force comprised of the Dayton Police Department, Springfield Police Department, Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Grandview Hospital Police Department, Miami County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio Adult Parole Authority, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, ICE, Montgomery County Prosecutors Office and Springboro Police Department.
