U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force Arrests Aggravated Assult Suspect
Wilkes-Barre, Pa - Today, U.S. Marshal Martin J. Pane announced the arrest of Jeremy Sonny, 30, in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

The Wilkes-Barre City Police Department obtained an arrest warrant charging Sonny with aggravated assault, and other related offenses, for an incident occurring on May 28, 2017 on Stanton Street. It is alleged that Sonny attacked his victim with a knife causing multiple injuries for which the victim was treated at an area hospital. Earlier today, US Marshals and members of fugitive task force located and arrested Sonny without incident. Sonny was turned over to local authorities pending judicial proceedings.

United States Marshal Martin J. Pane stated, “The U.S. Marshals Service and our task force partners recognize the importance of cooperation between federal, state and local police agencies – especially when searching for fugitives wanted for violent crimes. It is my sincere hope that the arrest of this dangerous fugitive brings some sense of relief to the victim.”

The USMS worked jointly in these investigations with personnel from the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department, Scranton Police Department and the Pennsylvania State Police.
