U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force Arrests Assault Suspect
Wilkes-Barre, PA - Today, U.S. Marshal Martin J. Pane announced the arrest of Marlenea Uravage, 29, in Nanticoke, PA.

The Wilkes-Barre City Police Department obtained an arrest warrant charging Uravage with assault for an incident occurring on May 28, 2017. It is alleged that Uravage violently pushed the victim to the ground without provocation. The victim was a 12 year-old girl who was waiting outside a local business where her father was shopping. Uravage fled the scene immediately after the assault occurred. Earlier today, US Marshals and members of fugitive task force located and arrested Uravage without incident. Uravage was located off of East Green Street in Nanticoke, PA. Uravage was turned over to local authorities pending judicial proceedings.

United States Marshal Martin J. Pane stated, “I cannot think of a bigger responsibility then the safety and protection of our nation’s children. The U.S. Marshals Service and our task force partners take an aggressive, deliberate approach in locating and arresting fugitives wanted for crimes against children. It is my sincere hope that this arrest brings some sense of comfort to the victim.”

The USMS worked jointly in these investigations with personnel from the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department, Scranton Police Department, Pennsylvania State Police and the Nanticoke Police Department.
