Fugitive Wanted for Weapons Possession Captured by U.S. Marshals Task Force
Newark, NJ - On Thursday, members of the United States Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force, Newark Division, arrested Fouquon Jones, 43, on Roseville Avenue in Newark. Jones was wanted by the Bureau of Alcohol and Tobacco (ATF) on charges of being a convicted felon in possession of a weapon.

An arrest warrant for Jones was issued on March 28, 2017. Shortly thereafter, the ATF requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals in apprehending Jones. Early Thursday morning, Investigators developed information that led them to a residence on Roseville Avenue in Newark where they were able to make contact with Jones and take him into custody. Members of the Fugitive Task Force also recovered a handgun loaded with full metal jacket rounds along with other ammunition that was located in the residence.

Jones is being held in U.S. Marshal Service Custody in Essex County Jail pending court proceedings.

The U.S. Marshal NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force, Newark Division, is comprised of members from the New Jersey State Police, Essex County Sheriff’s Office, Union County Sheriff’s Office, State Parole, Newark City Police Department, Port Authority Police, New Jersey Department of Corrections, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the United States Postal Inspection Service, and the Department of Homeland Security.
