U.S. Marshals Hunt for Former Marine who is 'Person of Interest' in Death of Girlfriend
A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading directly to McLeod’s arrest
San Diego, CA - The U.S. Marshals are seeking the public’s help in locating Raymond “RJ” McLeod, a person of interest in the death of his girlfriend in June 2016.

Raymond “RJ” McLeodOn June 10, 2016, San Diego police responded to an apartment where a woman was reported not breathing. The woman, identified as 30-year-old Krystal Mitchell, was pronounced dead on the scene. Mitchell was in San Diego visiting friends with McLeod. Authorities said McLeod fled the scene before they arrived, and has eluded them ever since.

“Krystal Mitchell was the mother of two young children,” said Deputy U.S. Marshal Frankie Sanchez, lead case agent. “Raymond McLeod may hold the key to her death. We need the public’s help in locating him so we can bring some sense of closure to Krystal’s family.”

A former Marine, McLeod is a 5-foot-11 white male weighing 245 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. He has a tattooed muscular physique and is known to frequent gyms. He is also known to use cocaine and marijuana, and seek entertainment in strip clubs.

McLeod is from Arizona, but authorities believe he may have fled across the border, and should be considered armed and dangerous due to his access to weapons.

A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading directly to McLeod’s arrest. Anyone with information is urged to contact the nearest U.S. Marshals Service office or the U.S. Marshals Service Communications Center at 1-800-336-0102, or email
