U.S. Marshals Arrest Man on Columbus Murder Charge
Columbus, OH - U.S. Marshal Peter Tobin is pleased to announce that the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) has directed the arrest of a man wanted for the May 2015 Murder of Courtney L. Elmore.

Davon Granger, 22, of Columbus was formally charged with one count of murder on June 7, 2015 and has been on the run since. The charges stem from a May 31, 2015 shooting on Columbus’ north side in which Elmore was fatally injured.

Deputy US Marshals from the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) adopted the case October 24th 2016 and through intensive investigation located the fugitive in the western Missouri town of Joplin, near the Kansas and Oklahoma borders. Working closely with members of the U.S. Marshals Southern Missouri Fugitive Task Force, Columbus-based Deputy Marshals directed Granger’s arrest at his girlfriend’s house. Granger barricaded himself in the home and surrendered to officers after a five hour standoff and the deployment of a tactical response team. Granger will remain in custody in Missouri until he is extradited back to Columbus for trial.

Columbus SOFAST is a fugitive-focused, U.S. Marshals Service-led task force consisting of local, state and federal authorities including the Columbus Division of Police, Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio Adult Parole Authority, Reynoldsburg Police Department, Delaware County Probation, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, United States Secret Service and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
