Three Year Man Hunt Comes to an End
Suspect Facing Murder Charge Arrested

LSFTF LogoSan Antonio, TX - The manhunt for Texas fugitive Rosalio Anthony Barraza is finally over. Barraza was arrested Friday at approximately 5 p.m. in Cadereyta, Jimenez, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

The 21-year-old fugitive is the alleged gunman in the 2013 murder of Issac Arrocha. On July 20, 2013, Barraza allegedly shot Arrocha six times in the chest during an argument leaving him for dead in the middle of the street on the west side of San Antonio.

The fugitive investigation gained momentum when U.S. Marshals determined Barraza had fled to Mexico. Further investigation by the Marshals and Mexican authorities revealed he was located in the city of Cadereyta, Jimenez, Nuevo Leon, where he was arrested on Friday. Barraza was returned to the U.S. and is being held in a detention facility in Laredo, Texas, awaiting extradition back to San Antonio.

David Sligh, United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas, stated, “The arrest of Rosalio Barraza is a testament to how effective and valuable our relationships are with our international and domestic law enforcement partners. Because of these relationships, fleeing the country proved ineffective for this dangerous fugitive and ultimately resulted in his capture.”
