Attempted Murder Suspect Arrested by U.S. Marshals in High Point, NC
 

High Point, NC - On October 7, 2016 at 8:00 a.m., Donald Lee Simms, Jr., 26, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force (JFTF) and the High Point Police Department. On October 4, 2016, warrants were issued for Simms for attempted first degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon intent to kill inflicting serious injury and discharging a weapon into occupied property causing injury. On September 24, 2016, during the early morning hours, it is alleged that an altercation occurred at 1228 Tank Court in High Point between Simms, Bradley Eugene Green and several others. Green received serious injuries to his leg and groin area after being shot several times.

Information was received that led the JFTF to conduct surveillance at 2604 Central Avenue. Simms was identified and was taken into custody without incident. Simms was placed in the High Point Jail under a $500,000 bond. A court date has been set for November 4, 2016 at the Guilford County Courthouse in High Point.

The U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force for the Middle District of North Carolina is comprised of investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service, Chapel Hill Police Department, Durham Police Department, Greensboro Police Department, High Point Police Department, Winston-Salem Police Department, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Department of Community Corrections – Probation & Parole and the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
