Murder Suspect From Virginia Arrested in Charlotte

Charlotte, NC - The United States Marshals Service Violent Offender Task Force (VOTF) located and arrested Karseem Wilson late Tuesday night at the Intown Suites located at 9211 East Independence Blvd. A homicide warrant was issued for Wilson in May 2016 after a shooting incident occurred in Danville, Va.

Information developed during the course of the investigation confirmed Wilson was residing in Charlotte, NC. After confirming Wilson’s location, VOTF members identified Wilson as a passenger in a vehicle. Wilson was taken into custody without incident.

Wilson will be held in the Mecklenburg County Jail pending extradition to Virginia.

The United States Marshals Violent Offender Task Force is comprised of the U.S. Marshals Service, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office, N.C. Department of Public Safety, and Department of Homeland Security.

Annually, investigations carried out by the U.S. Marshals result in the apprehension of approximately 34,000 federal fugitives. More federal fugitives are arrested by U.S. Marshals than all other federal agencies combined.
