Steak And Shake Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested in Burlington, NC by U.S. Marshals
 

Greensboro, NC - On Friday July 15, 2016 at approximately 4:30 p.m., Maurice Jamar Miles, 24, was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force (JFTF), with the assistance of the Burlington Police Department (BPD) and the Alamance County Sheriff's Office (ACSO). On May 28, 2016, the Burlington Police Department obtained an arrest warrant charging Miles in connection to an armed robbery that occurred at the Steak and Shake restaurant in Burlington, NC on May 8, 2016.

On May 8, 2016, Burlington Police Department responded to the Steak and Shake restaurant located at 3120 Garden Rd. Burlington, NC in reference to an armed robbery. It is alleged that Miles entered the business while displaying a handgun and robbed the employees of an undisclosed amount of cash.

On July 11, 2016, BPD contacted the JFTF and requested assistance in the apprehension of Miles. On July 15, 2016, through investigative efforts, members of the JFTF developed information that Miles was currently at 1332 Beaumont Ct., Apt A, Burlington, NC. The JFTF surrounded the residence and made contact with Miles at the rear door. Miles was taken into custody without incident. Miles was transported to the Alamance County Detention Center where he is currently being held under a $107,000.00 secured bond.

The U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force for the Middle District of North Carolina is comprised of investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service, Chapel Hill Police Department, Durham Police Department, Greensboro Police Department, High Point Police Department, Winston-Salem Police Department, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Department of Community Corrections – Probation & Parole and the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
