|Violent Offender Added to New Mexico’s Most Wanted Fugitive List|
Albuquerque, NM - It is
alleged in April 2016 Shane Garcia and another unknown offender forced
entry into a residence armed with what appeared to be semi-automatic
handguns. Once inside of the home Garcia announced his presence as the
Albuquerque Police issuing a search warrant. This burglary was captured
on video surveillance located within the home. Garcia was arrested on
March 10, 2016 and police have now identified what they believe is the
second suspect in the Aggravated Burglary as Melvin Lopez (5/22/1965).
It is alleged that the surveillance footage shows Lopez taking over
$20,000.00 in property. Lopez is wanted for charges of Aggravated
Burglary (Deadly Weapon) and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
Deputies and Task Force Officers assigned to the United States Marshals Service South West Investigative Fugitive Team (SWIFT) Task Force are actively trying to find Lopez and it is believed he is still in the Albuquerque area. It is asked that that anyone with information contact either the Albuquerque Police Department or the United States Marshals Service.
