U.S. Marshals Top Ten Most Wanted Violent Offender Arrested in San Juan

PRVOTF LogoSan Juan, PR - This morning the U.S. Marshals Puerto Rico Violent Offenders Task Force (PRVOTF) along with the Puerto Rico Police Department Bayamon Drug and Vice Unit, arrested Gisela Sanchez in San Juan, PR.

Sanchez was wanted by the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico for murder and weapon charges. In 2012 she was accused of shooting and killing her boyfriend in the town of Caguas, Puerto Rico. In 2014, while out on bail Sanchez decided to cut off her monitoring device and has been considered a fugitive since then.

The fugitive investigation for Sanchez gained momentum when PRVOTF personnel were able to gather significant information on her possible location. PROVTF personnel arrived at the Monacillos sector located in San Juan and apprehended Sanchez without incident. During the intervention a firearm and an undetermined amount of narcotics and cash were found.

Gisela Sanchez was featured as one of the top ten most wanted violent offender of the U.S. Marshals Puerto Rico Violent Offenders Task Force.

Orlando Rivera, U.S. Marshal for the District of Puerto Rico indicated that “The arrest of Gisela Sanchez is a testament to the outstating investigative work of our deputies and agents and it shows the commitment that you will be brought to justice, without distinction."

The Puerto Rico U.S. Marshals Violent Offenders Task Force is comprised of investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service, the Puerto Rico Police Department, the San Juan Municipal Police, the Department of Corrections, PR State Marshals and the State Internal Revenue Service.
