Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested by U.S. Marshals and the Winston-Salem Police Department
 

Greensboro, NC - On April 6, 2016, at approximately 11:15 AM, Darius Javonte Carter, a 22 year old male, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force (JFTF) and the Winston-Salem Police Department’s SWAT Team. On March 15, 2016, the Winston-Salem Police Department took out an arrest warrant charging Carter with robbery with a dangerous weapon. According to authorities, on July 09, 2015, Carter used a hand gun to threaten a victim and to deprive them of numerous personal belongings within the victim’s residence.

On April 6, 2015, the JFTF developed information through investigative efforts that Carter was staying at 1733 Princeton Street in Winston-Salem. The JFTF verified the information, surrounded and converged on the residence with the assistance of the Winston-Salem Police Department’s SWAT Team. Upon entry, an unknown subject exited the residence and confirmed that Carter was inside. After several minutes of commands, Carter exited out of the residence and was taken into custody. Carter was transported to the Forsyth County Jail on the alleged charge.

The U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force for the Middle District of North Carolina is comprised of investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service, Immigration Customs and Enforcement, Chapel Hill Police Department, Durham Police Department, Greensboro Police Department, High Point Police Department, Winston-Salem Police Department, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Department of Community Corrections – Probation & Parole.
