Tips from the Community Lead Marshals to Arrest of Area Fugitive

MSFTF LogoMartinsburg, WV – On April 6, 2016 the Mountain State Fugitive Task Force, comprised of members from the United States Marshals Service and the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, arrested Robert Foltz, 37, of Dash Drive in Falling Waters West Virginia. Robert Foltz was wanted on charges of failing to appear on a child abuse case that resulting in injuries to the child.

The Marshals fugitive task for had previously arrested Robert Foltz in February 2016 on his original charges of child abuse with injuries a warrant held by the West Virginia State Police. Marshals located Foltz the first time staying at a Hagerstown hotel. Foltz was released from custody on a bond. Robert Foltz failed to appear for his preliminary hearing related to the case and a warrant was issued for his arrest. The new warrant was referred to the Mountain State Fugitive Task Force for apprehension once again.

Investigators were having a difficult time locating Foltz as he was running with his girlfriend, living out of their vehicle and staying with friends and associates. Robert Foltz was released in the local papers and the citizens of the community stepped up and provided numerous tips which eventually lead to officers
spotting Robert Foltz in a vehicle outside the Williamsport, Maryland Methadone Clinic. When officers attempted to stop Robert Foltz he attempted to avoid capture leading police to pursue him from Washington County, Maryland into West Virginia. Officers were able to eventually arrest Robert Foltz on Grade Road.

Foltz was charged with felony evading due to the pursuit and the West Virginia State Police warrant was served on him as well. Foltz remains in Eastern Regional Jail on two cash only bonds to answer to his charges.

The Mountain State Fugitive Task Force (MSFTF) is a U.S. Marshals Service lead fugitive task force who works with local law enforcement agencies in order to locate and capture fugitives charged with Murder, Armed Robberies, Malicious Assaults, Sexual Assaults, Drug Offences and other violent felony crimes.
