East Side Shooter Captured
Suspect Facing Homicide Charge

LSFTF logoSan Antonio, TX - Donald Moore, 22, was arrested today by members of the United States Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) in San Antonio, TX. An arrest warrant was issued pursuant to an investigation by the San Antonio Police Department Homicide Unit (SAPD), where it is alleged that Moore committed homicide.

On March 31, 2016, members of the LSFTF initiated an investigation in locating and apprehending Moore. Through investigative efforts and extensive surveillance, task force officers observed Moore driving a vehicle in the 4600 block of Rittiman Road, on the northeast side of San Antonio. Task force officers initiated a stop of the vehicle, approached the vehicle, identified themselves, removed Moore from the vehicle, and took him into custody without incident.

On March 14, 2016, Moore allegedly shot and killed a man at a car wash located in the 2900 block of Rigsby Avenue, on the east side of San Antonio. Reports stated that the two men were involved in a fist fight that quickly escalated to Moore pulling out a handgun and shooting the victim multiple times. The victim died at the scene and Moore fled before SAPD officers arrived. After a thorough investigation by SAPD Homicide detectives, a warrant was issued earlier this week for Moore’s arrest.

Moore is currently being held in custody at the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

Robert R. Almonte, United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas, stated, “This relentless violence on our city’s east side has to come to an end. Too many people are losing their lives to ruthless gun violence and the citizens of San Antonio have suffered far too long.”
