Mountain State Fugitive Task Force Arrests Sex Assault Fugitive
and Nets Drugs and Gun During Arrest

Mounstain State Fugitive Task Force LogoMartinsburg, WV - On February 24, 2016 the Mountain State Fugitive Task Force, comprised of members from the United States Marshals Service, West Virginia State Police, Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, and the West Virginia Department of Corrections, arrested Vaughn Hilliard, 21, of Harvard Court, Martinsburg, West Virginia. Vaughn Hilliard was wanted by the West Virginia State Police on 5 counts of Sexual Assault 3rd Degree, 9 counts of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. Hilliard also had warrants from the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office charging him with Cultivation of Marijuana and Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana.

On December 17, 2015 warrants for arrest charging Vaughn Hilliard with 5 counts of Sexual Assault 3rd Degree, 9 counts of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor where obtained by the West Virginia State Police. Efforts were made by local law enforcement to locate and arrest Hilliard.

On January 11, 2016 the West Virginia State Police referred the warrant to the fugitive task force for apprehension. The task force was able to establish Vaughn Hilliard’s primary residence to be located at 188 Harvard Ct, Martinsburg, West Virginia. On February 24, 2016 task force officers arrested
Hilliard on Harvard Court. During the arrest process officers observed drugs within the residence of the home. A search warrant was obtained and over seven ounces of marijuana, 100 various controlled pills, and a .45 Caliber handgun where seized. Vaughn Hilliard was charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana, Possession of Schedule 4 drugs, Possession of Schedule 2 drugs, and Possession of Prescription Only pills from the items found during the search warrant. Others at the residence at the time of arrest where charged with possession of marijuana.

The Mountain State Fugitive Task Force (MSFTF) is a U.S. Marshals Service lead fugitive task force which works with local law enforcement agencies in order to locate and capture fugitives charged with Murder, Armed Robberies, Malicious Assaults, Sexual Assaults, Drug Offences and other violent felony crimes.
