U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force Involved in Fort Worth Shooting
Dallas, TX - This afternoon, at approximately 4:20 pm, Deputy U.S. Marshals and members of the North Texas Fugitive Task Force attempted to serve an arrest warrant subject David Watson. Watson, 53, was wanted for Robbery out of Hood County. The subject was encountered in the 7500 block of Camp Bowie West in Fort Worth when he was approached by law enforcement for the purpose of arrest. Watson allegedly drew a firearm and engaged with law enforcement. Watson was pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time, the investigation into the incident is ongoing, with Forth Worth PD leading the investigation. No deputies or task force officers were injured.

U.S. Marshals task forces combine the efforts of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to locate and arrest the most dangerous fugitives. In 2014, U.S. Marshals arrested more than 104,000 fugitives.
