Task Force Arrests Fugitive Hiding Under A Bed

Burlington, VT -- The U.S. Marshals Service Vermont Violent Offender Task Force (VVOTF) has arrested a fugitive who was wanted for violating the terms of her probation.

Nicole Bigelow, 22, of Franklin County, was arrested on the afternoon of August 6, 2014 in Georgia, Vermont when confronted by Deputy U.S. Marshals and members of the Vermont Violent Offender Task Force. Bigelow was wanted by the State of Vermont for violating the terms of her probation, which stemmed from a conviction for possession of heroin. Bigelow has been on the run since June 10, 2014.

During the course of the investigation, Deputy U.S. Marshals gathered information on Bigelow’s possible whereabouts. In the afternoon hours of August 6, 2014 Deputy U.S. Marshals located and arrested Bigelow after she was found hiding under a bed.

Bigelow was scheduled for court on August 6, 2014 in Burlington at the Chittenden Criminal Court. Bigelow’s arrest warrant was a hold without bail arrest warrant.

The arrest was a result of a culmination of investigative efforts by the U.S. Marshals Service District of Vermont, the U.S. Marshals VVOTF, and the Vermont State Police.
