U.S. Marshals Join Efforts with Chittenden/Grand Isle Sheriffs to Arrest Parolee

Burlington, VT - The U.S. Marshals Service Vermont Violent Offender Task Force (VVOTF) arrested a Vermont fugitive who was wanted for a Parole Violation.

Joshua Brissette, 29, formerly of Winooski, Vermont was arrested in Grand Isle, Vermont on Friday, June 27, 2014 when located by the Chittenden County Sheriff's Department, the Grand Isle Sheriff's Department and the U.S. Marshal’s Service. Brissette, who is being supervised by the Vermont Department of Corrections and is on Parole, violated the terms of his Parole in mid-May, 2014. Brissette has an extensive criminal history and has been arrested in the past for numerous offenses, to include Burglary, Domestic Assault, Resisting Arrest, DUI, Contempt, False Pretenses and Careless and Negligent Operation. After violating the terms of his parole, Brissette fled into hiding and his whereabouts were unknown of State Officials.

On June 27, 2014 investigators developed information leading them to Grand Isle Vermont. Brissette was taken into custody when located hiding inside a residence.

Brissette’s arrest was a result of a culmination of investigative efforts by the U.S. Marshals VVOTF, the Chittenden County Sheriff's Department and the Grand Isle Sheriff's Department.
