Atlanta Area Murder Suspect Captured in Killeen

LSFTF LogoKilleen, TX – Terrance Lamont Davis was arrested yesterday by the United States Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, Bell County Organized Crime Unit and Killeen and Harker Heights Police Departments. In December of 2013, an arrest warrant was issued by the Superior Court of De Kalb County, Georgia charging Davis with murder in the shooting death of Tattoo Artist Andrew Fortune in Lithonia, Georgia in 2011.

In December of 2013, members of the United States Marshals Service’s Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force (SRFTF) based in Atlanta, Georgia initiated an investigation in the search for Davis and in January of 2014, discovered Davis had fled to the Killeen, Texas area. SRFTF members then contacted Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) members, requesting assistance in locating Davis in the Central Texas area.

LSFTF members then conducted an investigation in the Central Texas area that indicated Davis was likely located in Killeen, Texas, but his exact whereabouts were unknown. On January 16, 2014, LSFTF members determined that Davis was residing at a house in the 6400 Block of Titanium Dr in Killeen. In the early evening hours of January 16th, Davis was observed departing the residence in a vehicle. A felony traffic stop was conducted and Davis was taken into custody without incident.

Davis is currently in custody in the Bell County Jail in Belton, TX awaiting extradition back to De Kalb County, GA.

Robert R. Almonte, United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas, stated, “The U.S. Marshals Service remains committed to assisting our state and local partners in bringing their fugitives to justice”.
