Multi-State Fugitive Arrested by U.S. Marshals Task Force in Ashtabula

NOVFTF LogoAshtabula, OH – Last Friday, members of the U.S. Marshals led Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, with the assistance of the Ashtabula Police Department, arrested Benjamin Genovese (age 35) at the residence of a family member located on Joseph Street in Ashtabula. Genovese was wanted by the Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Office for larceny, by the Mentor Police Department for felony larceny, by the Polk County Florida Sheriff’s Office for felony larceny, by the Florida Department of Corrections for a probation violation, and by the Woodford County Kentucky Sheriff’s Office for failure to pay child support. Genovese was transported to the Mentor City Jail to await his local court appearances and both Kentucky and Florida authorities initiated procedures to have Genovese extradited to face their charges.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “Genovese is a career criminal with an extensive criminal history in five states and this arrest will put a halt to his most recent crime spree.”
