Violent & Dangerous Gunman Finally Arrested
Fugitive Captured and Charged With Attempted Murder

LSFTF LogoSan Antonio, TX – Mario Andreas Godinez, 20, was arrested today by members of the United States Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) in San Antonio, TX. An arrest warrant was issued for Godinez pursuant to an investigation by the Weld County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) in Greeley, CO, on charges involving attempted murder.

On December 30, 2013, members of the LSFTF initiated an investigation in locating and apprehending Godinez. Task force officers, through investigative efforts, determined that Godinez had previously fled from Greeley, CO and was hiding out at a residence in the 1500 block of Yellow Sky in San Antonio, TX. Today, task force officers conducted a brief surveillance and approached the residence. Task force officers made contact with the owner of the residence, identified themselves, entered the residence, made contact with Godinez, and took him into custody without incident.

In 2012, Godinez and 2 other subjects were allegedly involved in an attempted home invasion in Greeley, CO. When entry into the home was unsuccessful, Godinez allegedly fired bullets through the front door while the home was occupied. All 3 subjects fled in an unknown vehicle, Godinez leaving one of his shoes behind. Warrants were later issued for their arrest on September 10, 2013.

Godinez, a confirmed Sureños 13 gang member, is currently being held in custody at the Bexar County Jail awaiting extradition to Weld County to face attempted murder charges.

Robert R. Almonte, United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas, stated, “Another violent and dangerous fugitive put behind bars means our streets are a little safer tonight.”
