Murder Suspect Being Sought by U.S. Marshals

Roswell, NM – On November 27, 2013, a shooting occurred in the 2900 block of South Emerald in Roswell, NM. The victim, Victor Contreras, died as a result of the injuries sustained from his gunshot wound. Roswell Police Detectives believe that Joseph G. Lucero, 37, is the primary suspect. Lucero is a convicted felon and is considered armed and dangerous. Roswell Police have obtained a warrant for Lucero’s arrest charging him with Murder and believe he may still be in New Mexico.
