U.S. Marshals Arrest Phosavan Khamnivong

U.S. Marshals Alaska Fugitive Task Force, assisted by the Drug Enforcement Administration, arrested Phosavan Khamnivong in a south Anchorage home today, December 4, 2013 at approximately 3:30 p.m. Khamnivong was wanted on an outstanding federal warrant for Drug Conspiracy, Kidnapping, Use of Firearms in Furtherance of Drug Conspiracy, and Use of Firearms in Furtherance of Kidnapping. Khamnivong was also wanted on outstanding state warrants for Assault 3, Criminal Mischief 3, Felony Eluding, Failure to Stop at Direction of Officer, Parole Violation and Failure to Comply with Conditions of Probation on an original conviction of Murder 2. Khamnivong had been on the run since May 16, 2013, and is currently being held in the Anchorage Correctional Complex pending federal and state court proceedings.

The Alaska Fugitive Task Force is a team comprised of law enforcement officers from the U.S. Marshals, Homeland Security Investigations, Alaska State Troopers, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives. The objective of the task force is to seek out and arrest violent offenders with outstanding federal and state warrants.
