Western PA Fugitive Task Force Open House for Media

WPAFTF LogoPittsburgh, PA – United States Marshal Steve Frank invites media members to an Open House on Friday, Nov. 22, from 10:30 am to 12:00pm , at the new offices of the Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force (WPAFTF). Media may observe, video or photograph the office and receive information on how the team operates. U.S. Marshal Frank will be available for interviews.

The Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force consists of law enforcement officers from the U.S. Marshals Service, Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole, Pennsylvania State Police, Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office, Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office and the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police. The Task Force operates under the supervision of the United States Marshals with guidance and assistance from the United States Attorney’s Office.

The Task Force’s primary mission is to investigate and apprehend, in a joint and coordinated manner, persons who have outstanding state and/or federal warrants for their arrest with an aim to increase public safety. The WPAFTF principally targets fugitives throughout western Pennsylvania wanted for violent crimes, weapon offenses, drug offenses and/or sex offenses. In the past year, the WPAFTF has amassed impressive arrest totals, apprehending 512 violent, felony fugitives, thus significantly contributing to the safety and protection of the citizens of this region.
