|U.S. Marshals Arrest Mansfield Stabbing Suspect in Columbus|
Mansfield, OH – Earlier this afternoon, members of the U.S. Marshals Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) arrested David King, age 34, in a residence in Columbus. King was wanted by the Mansfield Police Department for felonious assault, a felony of the 2nd degree, resulting from a confrontation and stabbing that occurred on Monday night on Poplar Street in Mansfield.
The arrest warrant was turned over to the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) Richland County Division on Tuesday. Task Force Officers initiated a fugitive investigation to locate King, which led them to the Columbus area. In coordination with SOFAST, Task Force Officers were able to locate and arrest King on the 900 block of E 19th Ave in Columbus.
Mansfield Police Chief Dino Sgambellone was notified of the arrest and stated, “It is the ability of the Marshals Task Force, to reach out and apprehend violent offenders, that continues to pay extraordinary dividends towards the safety of our community.”
