 Greensboro U.S. Marshals Arrest Suspect in D.C. Homicides

Winston Salem, NC – Yesterday morning at 9:30 AM, Kevin Antoine Walker, a 38 year old male was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force (JFTF), the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) and the Winston Salem Police Department.

Warrants were issued for Walker on August 30, 2013 by the DC Metropolitan Police for First Degree Murder while Armed (Premeditated). Walker was wanted in connection with the shooting deaths of siblings, Jamahl (21) and Jamie (28) Jenkins that occurred on July 20, 2013 in the early morning hours in Washington, DC.

Both victims were found unconscious and unresponsive in the 5300 block of East Capitol Street, Northeast in Washington DC, when officers arrived to investigate the report of a shooting. Jamie was transported to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. Emergency personnel were unable to find any signs of life in connection with Jamahl at the scene.
Upon gaining information regarding Walker’s whereabouts, members of the JFTF and CARFTF set up surveillance. Walker was arrested at his uncle’s residence located at 100 S. Spruce Street, Apt. B-25. CARFTF seized clothing items from Walker at the apartment. Members of JFTF transported Walker to the Durham Federal Courthouse for his initial appearance and is currently awaiting extradition.

The U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force for the Middle District of North Carolina is comprised of investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service, Chapel Hill Police Department, Durham Police Department, Greensboro Police Department, High Point Police Department, Winston Salem Police Department, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina Department of Public Safety Probation and Parole Division and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
