Fugitive To Face 1st Degree Murder and Drug Charges

LSFTF LogoSan Antonio, TX – Kevin Perez, 21, was arrested today by the United States Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) in Marion, TX. An arrest warrant was issued pursuant to an investigation by the Comal County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), where it is alleged that Perez committed 1st degree murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, and 2 counts involving delivery of a controlled substance.

Yesterday, the LSFTF was contacted by the CCSO for assistance in locating and apprehending Perez. This afternoon, task force officers, through investigative efforts, determined that Perez was hiding out at a residence located in the 200 block of Meadow Drive in Marion, TX. Task force officers entered the residence, identified themselves, made contact with Perez, and took him into custody without incident.

On March 31, 2012, Perez was allegedly involved in a shooting that resulted in the death of Gabriel Aguirre, 22. The shooting took place early that morning at an apartment in New Braunfels, TX. Hours after the incident, a warrant was issued for Perez’s arrest. Perez is currently being held in custody at the Comal County Jail.

Robert R. Almonte, United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas, stated, “Whenever guns and drugs are involved, danger is sure to follow. Unfortunately, a young man’s life was taken far before his time, and the one responsible will certainly suffer the consequences for his actions.”
