Harrisburg, PA – United States Marshal Martin J. Pane
announced today that the U.S. Marshals Service arrested 35-year old Nicholas
Adams in Franklintown, York County.
Adams was being sought by the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office in South
Carolina on charges of:
One (1) count of Attempted Murder
One (1) count of Assault/Assault &
Battery - 3rd degree
These charges stem from an alleged choking incident that
occurred between Adams and two victims. One of the victims in this case was a
On June 26, 2013, the arrest warrant was issued. At the request of the
Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. Marshals Service in the District of
South Carolina began investigating the whereabouts of Adams.
U.S. Marshals developed information that Adams may have fled to the York,
Pennsylvania area. An investigative lead was sent to the U.S. Marshals Service
Fugitive Task Force in the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
Early this morning, U.S. Marshals and members of the USMS Fugitive Task Force
located and arrested Adams at a residence on East South Street in Franklintown.
The fugitive was taken into custody without incident. Adams was turned over to
the Pennsylvania State Police for processing. He will await a court hearing
concerning his extradition to South Carolina.
United States Marshal Martin J. Pane stated, “Our top priority is to arrest
violent offenders. This arrest takes an attempted murder suspect off the street.
It is my sincere hope that this will bring the two victims some measure of
U.S. Marshals were assisted by personnel from the York City Sheriff’s Office,
Latimore Township Police Department, Dauphin County Adult Probation Office, and
the Pennsylvania State Police. All of these agencies are participants in the
Marshals’ Middle District of Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force.
