Eastern District of Louisiana Celebrates Second Annual Diversity Day

New Orleans, LA – U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Louisiana Genny May announced that the Eastern District of Louisiana celebrated their 2nd annual Diversity Day and Potluck Luncheon. The event was attended by deputies, support staff, contractors and task force officers. Attendees learned about DOJ/USMS Equal Opportunity Employment (EEO) policy and participated in two diversity themed games, USMS Diversity Squares and Cash GOV, a play off of the popular television game show Cash Cab. After the games, everyone partook in ethnic dishes which included Latin American Tres Leches, Greek Baklava, Thai satay with peanut sauce, and African American sweet potato pies.

Diversity and respect of other people’s differences are not only a priority for the U.S. Marshals Service, but also for the Eastern District of Louisiana. Diversity day is a day to honor all the different cultures, ethnicities and genders that comprise the agency and make it great. Everyone in attendance learned a lot about other cultures while at the same time having fun.
