McAllen, TX – A wanted fugitive was
arrested this morning by the United States Marshals Service multi-agency led
Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Fugitive Task Force (GCVOFTF).
Adolfo Luna Lozano, 34, was wanted by the McAllen Police Department for the
offense of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. It is alleged that
Lozano shot a man with a handgun following a fight near the Ice House Night
Club on March 23, 2013. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the left
arm. Lozano went into hiding once he learned that a warrant for his arrest
was issued by the McAllen Police Department. The case was referred to the
U.S. Marshals Service in McAllen, Texas.
At approximately 11:30 AM, U.S. Marshals Service Investigators and a McAllen
Police Task Force Officer assigned to the GCVOFTF developed information that
Lozano was staying with his girlfriend at a house near the 7400 block
Guayabo Street in Palmview, Texas. Members of the GCVOFTF arrived at a house
and discovered Lozano inside a bedroom. Members of the GCVOFTF arrested
Lozano without incident. Lozano is currently being held at the McAllen
Police Department pending the outcome of his case.
The GCVOFTF is a team comprised of law enforcement officers from the U.S.
Marshals Service, Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, Starr County Sheriff’s
Office, McAllen P.D., Mission P.D. San Juan P.D., Weslaco P.D., TDCJ Office
of Inspector General, Texas Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Alcohol
Tobacco & Firearms and Homeland Security Investigations.
