America’s Most Wanted Caught in Sacramento, California

America’s Most Wanted (AMW) fugitive Zane Kiel Mason profiled on the AMW show was arrested in Sacramento, California today. Mason is a 29 year old male who was wanted out Mohave, Arizona for Second Degree Murder. Mason allegedly stabbed a 51 year old man to death after an altercation broke out at the victim’s residence. Mason then fled Arizona before he could be arrested. Investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service District of Arizona WANTED Violent Offender Task Force believed Mason was hiding in the Sacramento area. Investigators from Arizona contacted Sacramento U.S. Marshals to assist in the investigation.

At approximately 1:00 p.m. today Investigators developed information that Mason was in the 5000 block of Roseville Road in North Highlands. Members of the U.S. Marshals Service Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force (PSWRFTF) and Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area and conducted surveillance. Shortly before 4:00 p.m. Mason was observed walking outside and sitting in the passenger side of a vehicle parked in front of the residence before going back inside.

While Mason was inside the residence a plan was developed to move in and arrest Mason. Deputy U.S. Marshals with assistance from Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputies and K-9’s along with a Sacramento Police helicopter flying overhead, moved in and surrounded the residence. Deputies called out the occupants along with Mason who complied with verbal commands and was taken into custody without incident.

Mason was transported and booked in the Sacramento County Jail to await extradition back to Arizona.
